This mouth watering dish which is favorite among all those who love eggs. This curry is flavoured mostly by ginger. It goes well with white rice.

Cooking Time: 45 mins


  • 6 Eggs Boiled and peeled
  • 2 Potatoes cut into blocks
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 1 Tomato finely chopped
  • 2 “long Ginger paste
  • 4 cloves of Garlic paste
  • 3 slited Green Chillies
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri Red Chilly powder
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp Garam masala powder
  • Few fresh Coriander leaves
  • Mustard oil
  • Salt and Sugar to taste

Cooking Procedure:

  1. First make few slits on the eggs. Add some salt and turmeric powder and rub it on the eggs.
  2. Heat mustard oil and lightly fry the eggs. Remove it when done.
  3. Fry the potatoes and then add little bit of salt and fry it until it is cooked.  Remove it as well when Potatoes are done.
  4. Add whole cumin seeds and bay leaf to temper in oil. Now add the finely chopped onion and fry it until it is translucent and then add ginger paste and garlic paste and mix it well. Cook it until the raw flavor of ginger and garlic is gone.
  5. Add the chopped tomatoes. When tomatoes are tender add all the spices: Turmeric Powder, Cumin Powder, Kashmiri Red Chilly Powder. Add half a glass of water to prevent the spices from burning.
  6. Add salt and sugar as per the taste.
  7. Add the fried potatoes and let it cook for few more mins. Cover the lid and cook it for 5 more mins. Now add the eggs and cook it for 3-4 mins more.
  8. It’s now cooked lastly add Garam masala powder and slitted green chillies. Then garnish it with few coriander leaves and cover the lid.

Serving Suggestion:

Enjoy Dimer Dalna with hot steamed rice. It took me about 45 mins to prepare this Egg Curry and serves 3 people.
