RAITA – Indian Yogurt Salad  

Raita is a most common side dish made with yogurt. This yogurt salad is made by combining yogurt and all kinds of grated and chopped vegetables. Raita goes perfect perfect with all kinds of dishes, especially spicy or hot ones like Biriyani or Pulao as the yogurt cuts the heat and cools down body.

Serving Size: 4 people


  • 500 gms of Yogurt
  • Cucumber
  • Carrot
  • Tomato
  • Onion
  • Salt
  • Fresh Coriander leaves
  • Roasted Cumin Powder
  • Sugar

Cooking Procedure:

  1. First stir the yogurt little bit and then add equal amount of Cucumber, Carrots, Tomato, Onion and then mix it well.
  2. Add pinch of salt, little bit of sugar and coriander leaves and mix it.
  3. Lastly garnish it with little bit of roasted cumin powder.
  4. Raita is now ready.

Serving Suggestion:

Enjoy Raita with Biriyani or Spicy Rice Pulao and this will serve about 4 people.
