Bengali Aloor Dom, Dum Alu

A delicious side dish made out of potatoes and a variety of spices that give it a yummy tasteIt’s a popular Bengali recipe.

Cooking Time: 45 mins

Ingredients:


  1. 500 gms Potato
  2. 1 Tomato
  3. 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  4. 1 Bay leaf
  5. 2 Onion
  6. 2 Dried Red Chilly
  7. 2 Green Chilly
  8. 2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  9. 50 gms Cashew Paste
  10. 1 tsp Garam Masala powder
  11. 1 tsp Ghee
  12. Salt
  13. Sugar
  14. 2 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste

Cooking procedure:
Take the good pieces of potatoes

Boil in a pressure cooker

Cut the potatoes in this order

Fry the potato until it  light browns

Grate the onion with chilly and chop the tomato.

Put the cumin seeds to crackle in oil with bay leaf . Then add the onion paste with all the spices. After that add tomato with little water, mix well, and cook for 4-5 minutes continuously stirring.

Sprinkle with cashew powder. Add the fried potato. Mix gently, cover and cook for about 10 minutes on low heat.

Serving Suggestions:

Now preparation is ready to serve with luchi or paratha.
