Chicken Rezala

It is a delicious dish.

Serving Size: 4

Cooking Time: 40 mins

Ingredients:

  1. 500 gm Chicken
  2. 2 Dried Red Chilly
  3. 100 gm Curd
  4. 2 Onion
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Sugar to taste
  7. 2 Green Chilly
  8. 1 Bayleaf
  9. 1Darchini or Dalchini
  10. 1 Clove
  11. 1 Cardamon
  12. 2 Black Pepper
  13. 1 tbsp Ghee

Cooking Procedure:

Make a paste of  onion and green chilly in mixi and also  mix the curd separately.

Now marinate the chicken with both the above mixture for about 1 hr.

Take the whole pieces of  garam masala.

Heat oil in pan and put the garam masala to crackle in oil.

Add the chicken along with the mixture. Stir well.Dont fry too much. Cover, lower the heat and simmer gently for 5-8 minutes . Put salt and sugar according to your taste. If necessary add little water. When its ready put 1 tbp ghee and stir well. Don’t  put ginger, garlic and haldi.

Cover, lower the heat and simmer gently for 5-8 minutes or until the okra is tender.

Serving Suggestions:

It goes well with biriyani or pulao

    Here’s my gf’s version:

    Ingredients:
    • 1Whole, chicken • 1 tbsp Wheat flour • 2 tsp Ginger paste • 3 tsp Garlic paste
    • 2 tsp Garam masala • 1/2 Cup keora water • 200 gm Sour curd • 8 Red chili
    • 2 tsp Ghee • 4 Onions • 2 Bay leaves • 10 Peppercorns • 4 tbsp White oil
    • Salt to taste • Water as needed

    How to make Chicken Rezala:
    • Wash and cut chicken into pieces.
    • Add peepercorns, bay leaf, and garam masala to the heated oil.
    • Fry chicken pieces with the spices, keep stirring.
    • When the water in chicken gets dry, combine onion, ginger and garlic to it and cook well. • Combine a mixture of curd, salt and flour to it, mix well. •Add keora water to it. • Steam them with 2 cups of water in a pressure cooker for about 10 minutes.
    • Heat ghee in a serving spoon with red chili and combine it with the chicken.
