Maacher Muro Diye Dal  


My recipe is a little lighter but it is still an enjoyable dish. Bengalis are known to eat fish in all its forms and with all its parts including the head. Its a wedding and special occasion dish.

Cooking Time: 40 mins

  1. 1 Cup Mug Dal / Yellow lentil
  2. 2 Rohu Head
  3. 1 tsp White & 1 tsp Black Jeera
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Sugar to taste
  6. 2 Green Chilly
  7. 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  8. 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  9. 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  10. 1 tsp GaramMasala
  11. 1 Tomato
  12. 1 tsp Ghee
  13. 2 Bay Leaf
  14. 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
Cooking procedure:
Boil the mug dal with salt,sugar and turmeric. Set aside.


Put bay leaves and white &  black jeera to crackle in oil. Then add fish head until brown.
Add all the spices , tomato and boiled dal . Add water as required. Lastly add garam masala and ghee. 
Serving Suggestions:

Now preparation is ready to serve with hot rice .
