A great smell from the kitchen tells you that your Doi Ilish is done. Hilsa or Ilish Mach is such a great tasting fish that tastes great in whatever way you make it. It’s a traditional Bengali Recipe. In North America you will find this fish in the Indian Grocery stores.

Ingredients:
- 4 Hilsa Steak
- 2 tbsp Yogurt
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 Green Chilly
- 1 tsp Black Jeera
- Mustard Oil
Cooking procedure:
Take the large size fish and clean it with water pat it dry. Marinate with salt and turmeric powder.
Make a paste of mustard seeds, turmeric powder, salt, green chilly and mustard oil .
Put jeera to crackle in oil. Add this mixture to the pan when the fish pieces become tender. Be careful that the mixture should be added evenly. Now add the dahi and immediately stir it otherwise dahi will form a chunk.
Serving Suggestions:
Enjoy with white rice.
