Chichinga Dal Fry, Snakegourd Lentil Fry

The recipe is very good, easy and cheap. I understood the meaning of cooking only after moving to US.

Serving Size: 2
Cooking Time: 45 mins
Ingredients:
  1. 250 gm Chichinga (Snake Gourd)
  2. 1/2 Cup Chana Dal
  3. 2 Red Chilly
  4. 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Sugar to taste
  7. 1 Onion
  8. Coconut
  9. 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  10. 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  11. 1 tsp Turmeric Powder

Cooking procedure:
Boil the Chana Dal

Grate the coconut with red chilly .

Heat the oil in kadai then add cumin seeds with red chilly to crackle in oil

Then add the chopped onion until it browns

Add chichinga into it for boiling and let it simmer for few minutes.

Then add the boiled dal with little amount of water. Add all the spices  with salt and turmeric ( salt and turmeric should be added according to one’s taste and colour) in the oil.

Serving Suggestions:
Serve it with Rice.
