Dhokla is a popular Gujrati dish. It is a absolutely vegetarian snacks and is too tangy when served with tamarind sauce. Its quite filling as its main ingrediant is gram flour.

  1. 250 gm Besan ( Gram Flour)
  2. 1/2 cup Curd
  3. 2 Green Chillies
  4. 1 tsp Ginger Paste
  5. 1 tsp Eno Fruit salt
  6. 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Oil
  9. A pinch of Turmeric Powder
  10. 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  11. Few Curry Leaves
  12. Few Coriander Leaves
Cooking Procedure:
Evenly mix besan, curd, salt and water to make a smooth thick batter. Then take the ginger  and green chili paste and add to the batter. Also add a pinch of turmeric powder and mix well. Keep it aside for about 2-3 hrs. In a bowl add Eno, oil and lemon juice  and put it in the batter. Pour the batter into the greased pan and steam in a cooker for about 10-12 minutes or until it is fluffy. Let it cool for sometime and cut into rhombus cubes.


Heat little oil in a small pan adding mustard seeds and curry leaves .Allow them to crackle. Remove and pour it over dhoklas.


Serving Suggestion:

Serve with tamarind sauce and corriander chutney.
